SHIVAJI: A Speculation

As of now many you out there knows that Mohanlal might just act in Shankar's next venture Shivaji. Though this news has never been officially confirmed by either Shankar or Rajnikant or even Mohanlal. Another rumour going around is that it's gonna a remake of one of Mohanlal's movie. The rumoured movies are Nadhuvazhikal and Natturajavu. But I feel both these movies won't stand a chance of remake. As Nadhuvazhikal has a vulnerable hero in the beginning of the movie who goes on to take revenge against those who were cause of his father's death. The movie was well made and it did run well but the problem is that the hero doesn't have super humane qualities. The other movie Natturajavu is completely the opposite to Nadhuvazhikal. The hero with super humane qualities goes on to help those who suffered because of his cruel father. The movie failed at the box office miserably as it lacked a good script/screenplay to back a unconventional storyline.
Now I don't think Shankar will take a such a risk and that too with Rajnikant where crores and crores of movies are at stake. Moreover if you go by the rumour, Mohanlal too has an equally proportional role. And both the above mentioned movie doesn't fit a second hero. So the question arises that if it's gonna be a remake of Mohanlal's movie, which one would it be? Let's now go through some of the possibilities. After going through Mohanlal's last 10 years film record, you would find that in almost 50% of his movies, he has played a larger-than-life character. Of all of them the most successful ones are Aaram Thampuran and Narasimham. I find these movies can be remade successfully. Of the two my take is on Aaram Thampuran. The movie was very well scripted with some really good dialogues and to top that some excellent performance from the supporting cast. The cast comprised of Narendra Prasad, Sreevidya, Manju Warrier, Saikumar, Odyuvil Unnikrishnan etc. As it's a Rajni movie, Rajni will play the main character (which was played by Mohanlal). And Mohanlal may play Saikumar's role. But his role in the film will then limited to just a supporting actor. But if Shankar can make few changes in the script, one might never know. Other character which Mohanlal might have is that of Narendra Prasad. Then it would be Rajnikant vs Mohanlal. Mohanlal has to then adorn villan's attire, which might not be bad idea. Ofcourse Mohanlal has to agree on it and I haven't heard anyone saying NO to Rajnikant and Shankar.
Now about the other movie in consideration is Narasimham. The has Mohanlal playing a character who is wrongly sentenced to jail for six years by his father and as a result of which he's is not able to become an IAS officer. He then after returning from jail goes on to take revenge against those who manipulated against him. Though the storyline is quite okay, the film's success was because of a very good screenplay and dialogues. Also there was a special appearance from Mammootty. It didn't had any second hero so Shankar has to find an additional track for Mohanlal if ever he remakes it.

Both the above mentioned movies had Mohanlal playing super humane characters and he never looked vulnerable which would be ideal for Rajnikant. These are just speculation and one has to wait till the actual movie releases. Remember Anniyan, so much of speculation and what it turned out to be!!!
One only wish that Mohanlal plays in the movie and has a equally substantial role.

Fear: Never heard it!!!

It's gonna be the best thing to say once you signed off from earth to heaven but as long as you are in this place, every earthling share this common thing: fear. Fear is actually essential for survival too else it would have a severe impact on the ecosystem. The keeps you to adapt to newer environment and also helps you in development of your existing skills. The fear of failure gets the best from most of us.
Recently scientists have discovered a gene-
stathmin, that controls the "fear" emotion. Without such a gene one becomes fearless and act to be a daredevil, which they found out in mice lacking this gene. Those lacking stathmin weren't afraid of the cats as they couldn't recall dangerous situation. Now over to the real thing, its also found that humans too possess such genes. For more this scientific news check out at the following link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4449226.stm.
So now you know why King Kong or any of those super heroes are so fearless.
Recommendations: Scientists should check with Bush and Osama for which one of them possess more of this gene?

King Kong Rules (May contain spoilers)

Last night I had the previlege to go for the premiere of King Kong at the Sathyam Cinemas. It seemed that many people were not knowing of the premiere or may have skipped it because of its late night showing. The movie was kept at 10.15 pm which is not good for those who commutes in the public transport system. To add to the trouble the show started at around 10.35. To be frank one never knew how the time went from the moment the film started. Will the usual interval, the film ended at around 2.00 am. The film is amazingly awesome to watch. The extreme long shots of the ship in the deep ocean is quite spectacular. Ofcourse lot of CG has been used but still one need to make them. But there were few places where one could find out that its a CG. The one that instantly came to my mind is the one where in a extreme long shot of fire is shown flowing through the mountain in the skull island. One can make out that those are made of using particle systems. The scores of dinosaurs running when they are chased by other dinosaurs (carnivores) is again a mind blowing chase sequence. It looks like hunting dogs chasing deers. Then came the best of them the fight between T-Rex(es) and King Kong. Never ever have I seen such an fight sequence. But the funny part is that when there are tons and tons of flesh all around the island why should the T-Rex fight with the King Kong for Ann(Naomi Watts) who will be max of 60kg. Imagine you are having Mac Burgers and Pizzas all around you to eat, you will never look for a Lays packet. I must say T-Rex chasing Ms Watts really didnt make any sense. Had there weren't any food for the T-Rex one could have expected. But one thing for sure had it not for those selfish or greedy T-Rex we wouldn't have seen such an awesome fight sequence. And as for King Kong, he is really short those stathmin genes which causes you to have the sense of fear (Very soon more on this subject). The film is a must watch for all those special efx enthusiasts. Harry Potter will now defiuntely feel the heat and soon the Goblet of Fire will be extingished by King Kong. Peter Jackson has yet again bought an ace and it may go on to beat the Titanic. It will be worth watching whether King Kong can really sink the Titanic. One strange common thing about both the films is that in both the movie the title character dies in the end.
The last lines from Carl Denham (Jack Black) sumed up "..it was the beauty that killed the beast". The same was true for Titanic.

PS: Thank you Karthik for dropping me at my place at 2 in the morning.

A Googly to Ganguly

Its sad that Ganguly is kicked out of the team when he performed well. Most of us were quite sure that Ganguly will be out of the team if he didn't perform well in the Delhi test. But as of now it's quite hard to swallow. Moreover selection of Wassim Jaffer(Opener) comes as a real surprise because the selectors have kept Gambhir in the team and Sehwag will definitely going to play the Ahmedabad Test. Where will Jaffer fit in? The answer lies in the letter I had sent months ago to the editorial column of most of the leading newspapers and magazines months before when the Ganguly-Chappell crisis started. Whether this letter was published is still unknown but it did predicted the outcome....

So read on....

"As of now everyone has been asked to speculate on the Ganguly-Chappell Crisis by various newschannels, newspapers and other medias. Taking this opportunity I would like to speculate the issue from a different angle. For me the whole crisis is somewhat fishy. I believe this is a
calculated game plan between Ganguly-Chappell-BCCI to play down the bad performances in the past months. I believe at the end of the "crisis" both Ganguly and Chappell will be there in the team at their respective positions. Maybe Ganguly might just compromise his captaincy in either ODI or Tests but he'll be definitely playing for another 2-3 years under the same coach. Both th coach and the captain have a common trait among them i.e they do not care about their image in public and will play all the wily tricks to either win a game or prove their point. At present they are in a situation where they find themselves together. Both of them need to prove their worth and it's definiely going to take some time. If they try too much, both of them are going to have a great fall so a "fight" in media means they have time in their hand as media will be more interested in what's happenning off ground than what's going to happen on ground. As the spice in the crisis lessesns two-three months would have gone and by the time, India might just be back into their winning habits that they left in South Africa in 2003. And also Tendulkar will be back by then. This defence mechanism may look like childish but their lies its
simplicity. Suppose bad performances continues, the media will talk more about the rift for the reasons behind the faiures and if good times are ahead then they will shower them (Ganguly & Chappell) with all the praises world around. If at all my speculation goes wrong (which never can be!) then we might see one of them packing the bag and who better than Ganguly (another speculation) as Captain always leads from the front".

Parliament Attack: A day to remember.

It was about 4 years ago on December 13, 2001 Indian Parliament was attacked by terrorists. It resulted in the death of all the terrorists and seven Indian policemen. I still remember how the news was flashed Indian Parliament Under Attack by all the Indian news channels aka the 9/11 attack when American channels showed America Under Attack.
After the attack there were questions asked to the MPs inside about what they felt and most of them said they would have been happy to give their life for the country. The best was from then Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Nirupam that he would have killed atleast 5 0r 6 terrorist before dying. The verdict against few of the people who had master minded is still pending. Also during these years there was an attack on one of the person whom police claims to have master minded the all episode.
In the Feb this year I had the previlege to go to the Parliament House. It was quite an experience. I also saw the marks made by the bullets.
The attack created a big hole into Indian Intelligence Services. Nowhere would have been a attack such as this where armed men were almost successfull to seige the highest government building. Had it not been for those Seven Great Men who gave their life, India would have been having elections at various constituencies in six months time.

Getting Started

Days ago I got an email with subject head: UK Requirement, from my cousin. The mail was a part of a long forwarded message asking to send the same to as many people as possible and you might get some rewards from Microsoft. There were many comments from people claiming to be working in well known MNCs that they got money for the same. After going through it for 15 mins, I thought why not try luck for myself. But I had very few list of email ids of my friends or relatives. So I thought the best I can do is to copy-paste the email ids of all the people from where this mail had been forwarded. As I was about to do it, I thought it would be dangerous and God Knows if there were any IT laws that will result in me behind the bars. So I opened up the Gods gift to netlings--GOOGLE. I searched for UK requirement. Was unlucky and couldn't find any site leading to the mail I got. After few other tries, I entered Microsoft mail. And voila I got a few sites about Microsoft Mail Hoax and Virus Busters etc.. I came to know that the same variant(mail) is been running in the net since 1997 and it is a hoax mail. Even there are warnings regarding the same put up at the Microsoft site. And I was depressed that I came to know just hours back. I thought why it took such a long time for the mail to start off in my country. At that point I was going through Google News and the answer was there : Bill Gates in India.

Here are the links regarding the above mentioned information:
